1 lb mild Italian sausage
1 large onion chopped
2 cloves garlic chopped fine
1.5 to 2 jars Grandma Martino's Italian Sauce
2 qts chicken broth
1 16 oz. can cannelloni beans
1 cup Stelline (stars) pasta (or any small pasta you have, like Ditalini)
1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
1 to 2 tsp Italian herb seasoning blend (optional)
1-2 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 tsp ground pepper (optional)
Brown sausage & onions in pot, add garlic & then drain off fat. Add chicken broth to deglaze pot, then add Grandma Martino’s Italian Sauce. (You can put more or less of Grandma Marrtino's Italian Sauce depending on the consistency you like. This recipe makes a thick consistency, so if you want it thinner add more chicken broth, water or less sauce.) After you get it to the consistency you like, then add the pepper flakes (more or less to your taste—but start with a small amount & add to it slowly). Then add cannelloni beans, herb seasoning blend, salt & pepper to taste. It’s yummy & hardy !!
